About Us
As students, we found ourselves constantly looking for cool events to participate next to our studies.
We always discovered them too late:
- through a friend’s status update about going to NYC for free;
- a friend announcing he’s going skiing in Austria with a consulting company;
- or friends having already formed a team before we even discovered the competition.
Not only that, when we actually tried looking for the best events it proved too difficult to sort them out from the rest. Yes, we tried to Google some key words and try our luck – but the events were outdated, not open for our study field or level and we weren’t even sure those would be the best events to dedicate our precious time to.
We started thinking: What if we take all the events out there – events that are organized by so many different organizations- firms, universities, student clubs; and put them all on one platform where students like ourselves could easily find, register, rank and comment on them?
This question led us to build StudentEvents.com, a website we wish would have existed when we started our Bachelors and throughout our Master or MBA.

Jonathan Friedman: Co-founder and CEO - BSc International Business Administration, Cum Laude, MSc in Finance and investments, Cum Laude. Jonathan has previously founded an international business and has participated in many student competitions, conferences and courses through his academic studies.
Nir Markus: Co-founder and CPO – BSc Computer Science, Magna Cum Laude & MBA Graduate. Nir founded his first company when he was 15. Since then he has worked in many more startups. Nir has a great deal of experience in software design, leading software projects and business development. He left his job at Bloomberg London in 2008 to fullfil his dream and create startups that will change the world.
Jacob Baytelman joined StudentEvents as CTO in April 2011 and took the responsibility of the development process. Jacob says: "Being a startup we are constantly building new features and improving the existing ones. Apart from content provision we also offer technology for event handling and processing which is a serious challenge and grasping experience for all of us."
Roxana Oprisan joined StudentEvents as Event Coordinator in December 2010 and is managing all aspects of event organising. Roxana speaks 5 languages, and owns 3 master degrees. She is responsible for all the awesome activities and events that we organise around the world.
